Save the Dates have been sent and the big day is fast approaching. :). Our plans are shaping up nicely. We hired a wedding planner in Hawaii, Steven Cook of White Orchid Weddings, who has been a lifesaver in getting everything sorted. So thank you Steven!
The church has been confirmed, photographer booked, flowers arranged, musicians hired for the service, and the reception dinner at Huggo's has been reserved. I found my dress in the summer and I am currently awaiting for it to arrive for alterations. Should be next week so very exciting. Andrew has some of his attire....the big debate is a Hawaiian shirt, a regular dress shirt, or a jacket and shirt. He can't decide so I think we will be taking all three options with us so he can decide that day. :)
Our travel plans have been sorted too. We are heading out to the big island prior to the wedding and spending a little time at the Volcano National Park and then driving west to reach Kona. We will have to do some wedding logistics like get our marriage license and meet with the priest but we hope to get in some quality relaxation time. We are planning a couple of snorkeling adventures, a trip to a Kona coffee field, and attending a luau. We decided to stay at the Courtyard King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel for our time in Kona. While in Volcano we are going to stay at the Kilauea Military Camp. We are staying with my parents and sisters in a sweet lodge. So thank you dad for your military service. :)
I am still looking for a hotel for our few day stay in Oahu so will keep everyone posted.
For those not able to join us in Hawaii we have confirmed our Cincinnati reception date. It will be May 10, 2014 at the Christian Moerlein Brewery & Taproom. We are planning a cocktail style reception and will send out more information next year. We hope to see everyone in May!
