The wedding planner recommended Huggo's for the reception dinner. Another potential option for either the reception or rehearsal dinner is Kona Brewing Co. We want a restaurant with a nice casual atmosphere and good food/drink. Those are mainly my criteria. I don't want to serve friends and family Bud Light and a crappy catered chicken dinner and I don't want to subject myself to a stuffy formal atmosphere.
We have also considered a couple options for housing. One is the Royal Kona resort. It is an older resort which has the primary advantage of being centrally located within walking distance of the center of town. The other is potentially renting a house or condo through Vacation Rentals by Owner. This option would have the advantage of allowing a group of friends and family to stay together in one house.
Everything is preliminary so far but we are working on it!
